2024 Highlights

2024 Highlights

During this recent January deep freeze, we took some time to look back at some highlights from last year.  It was another good year at Winterlong of great beer and great people!

2024 Highlights:

  • Our brewers were busy! They brewed 133 beers and made over 245,360 L of beer!  Fun Fact: 22% of those brews were Pingo (our overall best seller)!  Our tasting room staff poured over 26,000 pints and 2,355 Tasting Flights!

  • We brewed a few brand-new beers (Model Citizen, Old Wolf and Dueling Chainsaws) and saw the return of some seasonal favourites that hadn’t been brewed in a few years (Fresh Hop and Log Splitter)!  The fresh hop brew was especially exciting getting to use fresh hops that had just been harvested the previous day.

  • Our two rooftop solar installations cranked out 58.89 MWh of solar power. We generally produce solar power from mid-March, as soon as the snow melts off the rooff, to mid-October or whenever the first snow flies in the fall/winter.

  • We got to do our first Cask event, at the Yukon Brewers Guild Caskival in April!  It was such a great local brewery event and we hope to do it again in 2025.

  • We got to sponsor the Dawson City Music Festival – as their official beer sponsor.  The festival made a big splash, returning to it’s former hey day, with the big main tent, beer garden, and many fantastic local and outside artists.

  • We served our beer in Victoria, BC at the Great Canadian Beer Festival in September.  Festivalgoers got a taste of our Spruce Tip, Shadow Dancer and Headspace!

  • The women of Winterlong participated in our 5th annual Pink Boots Brew Day. This time we spiffed things up with matching tie-dyed pink coveralls!

  • We did two collaboration brews with our friends at Woodcutter’s Brewing, one at their brewery in January and one at ours in November!  It’s always a treat brewing with friends.

  • We hosted some fun events, like a Valentines Cheese & Beer Pairing event, Live Music Trivia run by Flicks and Groove, and Queers & Beers Pride Bingo event.

With every year that passes we grow ever the more grateful for our customers, the community and our amazing team. We feel pretty lucky to get to do what we do here in the Yukon!

In 2025, we have much to look forward to!  Most importantly, we are turning 10 years old and have a big party in the planning stage.  Save the date for May 31, 2025!!!
