Spring is in the Air

Spring is in the Air

It’s clearly spring out there, with Yukoners donning t-shirts whenever the sun packs some ‘heat’.  We are slowly chipping away at the snow in the beer garden and in the parking lot, and letting the sun do the rest.  Patio season is on for those brave enough!

Many of us are surely looking forward to biking season as well as the return of Haines Beer Fest in May (fingres crossed). The next two months are full of exciting beer releases and hopefully some new additions to the food menu (thanks to a certain someone building a bakery next door).

Beer Releases

Tragic Vision Oak-Aged Barleywine  - Wednesday!

This beer has only been brewed once before, back in 2017!  We are pleased to say it’s back from the dead in a new format…  Single Cans.  Wait for tomorrow to see the big can label reveal!  Tragic Vision is an English-style Barleywine, aged in second use bourbon barrels.  The resulting extra strong ale (10% ABV) is a complex blend of raisin, fig, toffee, leather and oak notes with a super smooth finish.

It's only been 4.5 years since we brewed this doozy of a beer!  Look for it in cans tomorrow.

Witch Craft IPA – Next Week

This annual Pink Boots Collaboration Beer, celebrating women in the brewing industry, is set to release next week!  Recently, ten of our witches brewed this tasty IPA, that features the latest Pink Boots Hop Blend from Yakima Chief Hops.  Check out our other post here  for details on the fun brew day and stay tuned for final release info on our social media channels.

Heads up a portion of sales from this beer are going to the Pinks Boots Society Canada Chapter, Victoria Faulkner Women's Centre, Yukon Status of Women Council, and Dawson Women's Shelter!

This is our third year of brewing Witch Craft.  Look for it next week.

Truckstop Poetry Hazy IPA – Late-April

Our next rotational hazy IPA coming in a few weeks, is the lovely Truckstop Poetry.  Truckstop Poetry features Foggy London Ale Yeast and dry-hopped with Cashmere and Galaxy for a smooth, juicy tropical and citrus forward IPA.

Erebus & Terror – End of April

The annual releases of these two Franklin-Expedition inspired imperial stouts are set for release at the end April.    If you need to refresh your memory, check out our past blog about these beers. Stay tuned as always to our social media channels for release dates.

Moonbase Freedom Hazy IPA – mid-May

Moonbase is the next Hazy IPA in line, featuring Vermont Ale yeast and one of our all-time favourite hops, Strata!

Haines Beer Fest & 7th Anniversary Releases – End of May/June

You can expect the return of some great beers we haven’t brewed in a while, in honour of the return of Haines Beer Fest and in celebration of our 7th Birthday. Details to come.

Doesn't this bring back some sunny Haines, Alaska memories (circa 2017)!

Spruce Tip

Staff are telling us that they are already getting questions about when the first Spruce Tip will be coming.  And just like every year, it’s not until JUNE!   So stay tuned, it’s coming, but not until nature does its thing.

We can't' wait until harvest time.  Look for our Spruce Tip Pale Ale in early June!
